The end of the first week - it's been a long one. New Year's Eve feels like 2 months ago... not a bad week, just a long one. First 5 day work week in quite awhile. So I've been writing and doing my "new things" for a week now and it only took me this long to share my blog with others. I'm a bit of a self critic (major understatement), so was feeling a little nervous about putting this out there for others to read. Putting my life/thoughts/experiences in cyberspace is much less nerve wracking when nobody knows it's there :). However, a very smart friend of mine who did know I was doing this, but not where to find it, wrote me the following "let go of the reigns! i mean, no one thinks you're a professional writer. you have to take on the attitude of "it is what it is and i'm doing this for myself" and let it be. give out the link and then forget that other people may or may not be reading it." thank you, my wise friend. So Thursday (day 7)'s new thing was letting go of my control reigns and self-judgement (at least a little) and letting my friends and family into this crazy noggin' of mine.
And I got some great(?) feedback friends... so far here is a list of new things people have told me to do:
Thanks Friends - very helpful suggestions for new things... some of you must not know me all that well - some of these may not be new :) haha.
Oh... two other new things for Thursday, January 7 - I went to Peru! Massachusetts that is. I just found out there was a Peru MA recently. Did a drive through on my way to Hinsdale, MA (this job of mine is introducing me to all kinds of new places) - was snowy and cold and mountainous. I did meet a few locals who were very kind and friendly...
On this trip of mine, I also drove past Bread Euphoria and almost stopped (I've heard great things about this place). I didn't for whatever reason, but later at Trivia last night, Bread Euphoria came to me... apparently the universe wanted me to have Bread Euphia - they dropped off free goods for the trivia participants and this morning I had Kalamata Olive toast - delicious!
